Contributions to my learning community (Courses 5303 & 5305)

Updated: Jul 24, 2023

A few months ago, I was struggling to decide the direction of my life. But now, as I evaluate my first two classes of my master's degree, I am amazed at the valuable knowledge I have gained. I never thought I could be so passionate about this experience. Since completing my degree in education, I have always enjoyed working with children. Through Blended Learning and developing my own e-Portfolio, I have discovered that we can continually improve and move towards a better future. Learning about COVA and CSLE has broadened my perspective and helped me to have a better mission and vision for myself. I have passed on these values to my students, always being there for them and encouraging their growth while instilling a love for education, especially in mathematics.

Growth of Mindset reminds and inspire me that no matter how many times I may stumble, I can always create a better version of myself. I never expected that this path would bring me many beautiful experiences and learning opportunities. In summary, I would like to take advantage of the collaborative efforts that my colleagues and I have made in the last few months to associate them with COVA and how we have created an environment conducive to excelling in all our tasks. We continually support each other and strongly believe in our abilities while acknowledging that there is always room for improvement, which is how Mindset reflected on this team.

I have met amazing people who have taught me many lessons in this short time. I firmly believe that teamwork is a fundamental part of achieving success in a school community. It was a pleasure to share my work with colleagues and receive their positive feedback. The success of one is the success of all. I am grateful for my valuable and great work team. Each member possesses valuable skills and knowledge, and I have learned a lot from all of them.

Key and Supporting Contributions

Next, I will explain some key and supporting points:

  • Our brainstorming sessions were successful in building knowledge and sharing ideas. It helped us see all the reviews more clearly.

  • During meetings, I tried to help my colleagues with any questions or concerns they had, just as they helped me. I also took the opportunity to explain some of my work.

  • I helped to explain the Capcut video editing app.

  • I actively participated in discussions on BlackBoard each week, I enjoyed reviewing my colleagues' portfolios and providing constructive feedback, and I also appreciated their input on my work.

  • We share valuable resources and tips to improve our literature and APA formatting skills.

  • We discussed our teaching goals and exchanged tips on improving our teaching skills in the classroom.

  • I had the idea to create a journal where we could record everything, and each team member took turns contributing to the journal.

  • I also created a group agenda to ensure we stay on track.

  • Adriana was in charge of sharing the Zoom link for our weekly sessions and she was responsible for leading the work sessions and ensuring that all relevant topics were addressed and nothing was overlooked.

  • Estefania took photographs as evidence of each meeting, I gained valuable insights from Estefania as she shared many great ideas with me. She comes across as an intelligent person with precise feedback about my work and colleagues. I find her to be observant and a quick learner. Additionally, she is creative and always willing to lend a helping hand when I ask for it.

  • Vitalia was responsible to pass the links with the relevant information to our WhatsApp group. also, she brought positive energy to the team with supportive comments and a cheerful attitude and actively participated in discussions and journals.

  • Our WhatsApp group lets us stay connected and address any questions or concerns.

Areas that I would like to work to improve my skills

The most challenging part was the Disruptive Innovation class; it had been a while since I had read so much and reviewed authors. However, I found the e-Portfolio class very interesting and enjoyable because I had never heard of this tool before. I am excited to meet new people during this adventure that has just begun, and I am confident that I will achieve my goal.
