  • Contributions ADL 5320 & 5318. Finally Graduated!! We're not saying goodbye, just see you soon.

Team members: Adiana Celis Estefania Laguna Iliana Reyes I can't believe that I've reached the end of this path. At times, I thought I wouldn't make it. I'm filled with mixed emotions of happiness and sadness. I'm going to miss everything about this course - the classes, the lectures, and my colleagues. But since everything comes to an end, each of us must take our own course in different but equal directions. We all have a reason, and that reason is to contribute to society from our classrooms. I would like to express my gratitude to my two colleagues who have become good friends of mine. I appreciate all of their positive qualities and everything that I have learned from them. The support that I received from Adriana and Estefania was unparalleled. They are both exceptional human beings with numerous virtues and qualities. During our assignments, we shared our work by sending links to our portfolios and gave each other feedback. We would have discussions during our meetings about how to approach each assignment and helped each other manage our schedules and delivery dates. We discussed two different subjects and gave each other objective feedback with the intention of helping each other. I am happy to say that I now fully understand the APA format and no longer need to work on improving it. Our reflections were insightful, and we gained valuable advice and experiences from each other. In the subject of Instructional Design, I received valuable input from my colleagues on the Implementation video, including feedback on the video's duration and content. The Usability part of the assignment was a bit challenging, but my colleagues helped me understand its requirements. In Synthesis ADL, we shared our emotions and worked together to understand the structure of the final summary of the entire master's degree. During our meetings, Adriana is responsible for managing the logistics of schedules and links while Estefania and I analyze the assignments, videos, and discussions to share a summarized version in our meetings. I want to take a moment to talk about Adriana. She is an exemplary individual from whom one can learn many things from her experience. She is very responsible, punctual, and objective. She never loses focus and always directs us to ensure we stay on track. Additionally, Adriana's sincerity is a point in her favor since she knows how to express her opinions without offending anyone. Adry, I am going to miss you very much. I will miss our conversations and your professional and personal advice. I am pleased to talk about Estefania, an individual who possesses extensive patience and dedication. She is intelligent and passionate about what she doe/s. Estefania deserves all my admiration, as she is a mother of small children, which makes her even more brilliant. She is extremely knowledgeable about technology tools and radiates a lot of faith and devotion to her family, practice, and beliefs. Estefania is a very kind-hearted person, always willing to help those in need. Estef, I don't want to say goodbye to you. I am grateful to have met you, and you truly have all my respect. I consider you a friend forever. Dear colleagues and friends, This message is not goodbye, but rather a "see you soon." I want you to know that you have a friend in me and I hope that all your dreams and goals come true. I want you to know that I admire and respect you. I am grateful that we can work in teams for this subject. Without a learning community, we would be limited to a single perspective, and we wouldn't be able to conduct in-depth analysis, give and receive feedback, and ultimately succeed in all 10 subjects. I am leaving calmly and with many valuable lessons learned. I have also gained two more friends. Thank you all for everything. • Call to action: Professional Learning for all the teachers in continouos Learning

Professional development sessions can be ineffective and lengthy, failing to meet the real needs of teachers, which in turn affects the learning of students. However, my work team is an exception to this as we constantly support and grow with each other. We attend trainings and keep learning to improve our skills. I firmly believe that the 5 principles of effective professional development are a valuable guide for us. They make perfect sense and provide a clear understanding of what we should and should not do to achieve success. Effective professional development requires five key principles: duration, support, commitment, modeling, and specific content. Without these principles, professional development sessions can be unproductive and lengthy, ultimately causing students to learn less effectively. However, I have been fortunate to be a part of a team that is consistently growing, supporting one another, and continually learning by attending training sessions that adhere to these principles. By following these principles, we have a clear roadmap for achieving our goals. Each principle is well-defined, making it easy to understand what we should and should not do during professional development sessions. Thus, we can ensure that our professional development sessions are fruitful and beneficial. Staying up-to-date with the latest teaching models is crucial for enhancing teaching practices in classrooms and promoting student learning. • The learner as an active part of his or her own learning.

The video titled "Modeling-Based (Flipped) Professional Development at Rutgers University - Dr. Lodge McCammon" demonstrated an innovative approach to professional learning that left me feeling motivated and pleasantly surprised. The video enlightened me on the fact that something as simple as walking could activate the part of the brain responsible for memory, attention, creativity, and performance. This approach not only benefits the participants of the PL class, but also our own students. The most striking aspect of the video was the active participation of PL trainees as they took on the role of students and engaged in the learning process through technology and in-person interaction. Witnessing the students' enthusiasm and motivation, which even led them to create their own videos, was amazing. This hands-on approach to teaching and learning was inspiring, as teachers were not passive listeners, but active participants in the learning process. My own PL experience was similar to what was depicted in the video - where learners were extremely active and eager to learn. As we have discussed before, our involvement is crucial to our own learning journey. It's amazing how much we can learn when we take an active role in acquiring knowledge. Personally, I have found watching videos to be an incredibly effective way to learn and I am excited to continue to grow as an educator through this experience. As educational personnel and human beings, it is crucial to have a voice and share our knowledge with others. I am someone who finds joy in helping others, especially when people visit my e-portfolio and seek information from my research to aid them in their journey as students or educators. The blessing of extending learning and reaching a broader audience is amplified with the advanced tools available today. My innovative proposal is to teach mathematics through blended learning. The main topic I want to discuss is "Growth Mindset and Technology: Ensuring Success in Learning Mathematics Among Young Children." Sites that have caught my interest to publishing: Edutopia eLearn Magazine Educational technology and mobile learning. TeacherTube Google's suite of digital tools, including Docs, Slides, and Sheets, has been tremendously helpful for me in connecting with my colleagues. Additionally, platforms like Zoom have made it much easier for me to navigate my master's degree program, as well as my personal and professional endeavors. In all honesty, there is always room for improvement, especially with the rapid technological advancements. It seems like newer and more modern tools are being released constantly, and we need to stay up-to-date and familiarize ourselves with these tools. As our students are growing up in this new era, it's crucial that we understand and adapt to their needs. If we don't, we run the risk of becoming obsolete and irrelevant. • Contributions to my learning community (Courses 5315 & 5317)

Working together as a team is very important for achieving goals quickly and effectively. When people work together as a team, their individual skills are combined, and they can overcome their weaknesses. Different people have different ways of thinking, which can help to create new and innovative ideas. Teamwork is good because it promotes support and friendship between colleagues, and it reduces the amount of work each person needs to do, so everyone can work more efficiently. To be successful, team members need to communicate with each other openly and effectively. They should also have clear roles and responsibilities. It's important that everyone in the team trusts, respects, and is committed to working with each other. By working together, people can achieve more than they could alone. This creates strong relationships and a sense of community that goes beyond individual boundaries. In every subject, there are challenges to face. In the subjects of Digital Resources and Digital Assessment, there were many challenges and complications, but our team managed to overcome them and complete all assignments. In Digital Resources, the biggest challenge was the preparation of the Project Media. When my colleagues and I read the instructions, we were frustrated since we are not professionals in technology, and making a podcast seemed daunting. Thanks to Estefania, who is an enterprising person and likes to do research, we found an idea that we really liked. We decided to make mini podcasts with tips in relation to blended learning and rotation stations. This led us to develop our podcast Ready, Set E-Tips. It was not an easy task since we recorded our voices, created transcripts, edited audio, and did digital editing in our portfolio. However, I feel proud of myself and my teammates. In the area of Digital Assessment, doing a second literature review was a great challenge. Although with the experience of the first one, we were able to resolve some doubts. It required extensive reading and an exhaustive search for suitable authors to support my research. Our team used to have meetings once or twice a week, depending on our workload. Adriana was in charge of managing the links for these meetings. As a team, we shared various work materials for our literature review of the 5317 subject. Additionally, we shared resources from a few interesting pages on the internet to aid us in publishing our articles for the 5315 subject. Estefania designed the model of our podcast and we customized it to meet our preferences and requirements. She also collected evidence of our meetings. My responsibility was to read the assigments before the meetings so that I could explain in detail what we had to do and how much time we had to finish our work. The discussions we had on the Blackboard were immensely helpful in clarifying the goals of our team. Moreover, the collaboration among the team members in revising the draft of our publication on topic 5315 enhanced the quality of our work significantly. I truly value the feedback that my colleagues share on my work, as they can often identify the things that I may have missed. Such feedback b/98oosts my confidence in delivering my work. I am deeply grateful to Estefania and Adriana for their invaluable help throughout this adventure that we are almost ready to conclude./ Honestly, I don't know what I will do next. I will truly miss our meetings, the laughter we shared, and even the little bit of stress that came with coordinating the associations. Thanks to our teamwork and strong relationship, we successfully completed our 7th and 8th subjects. • Action Research

I have found action research to be an incredibly valuable tool for improving my teaching practice, specifically in enhancing mathematics education in the classroom through the use of digital technology as a blended learning approach. The core question I am addressing is why students learn mathematics more effectively with technological tools such as blended learning, as compared to traditional teaching methods. To answer this question, I have opted to use a mixed-method approach that involves both qualitative and quantitative evaluation. Qualitative data allows me to observe and analyze the classroom environment in terms of student engagement, behavior, and participation. Quantitative data, on the other hand, provides a more objective and statistical analysis of student performance and progress. Data collection is a crucial aspect of this approach, as it allows organizations to gather reliable and comprehensive information for statistical analysis. In the field of education, analyzing data is essential for making informed decisions and conducting research that can shape strategies. By accurately collecting data, organizations can evaluate outcomes, find answers to important questions, and anticipate future trends and students' needs. Through this approach, I am able to gain valuable insights into the effectiveness of digital technology as a blended learning approach for mathematics education. I can evaluate the impact of technology on student learning outcomes, engagement, and motivation, while also identifying any potential challenges or barriers to its implementation. In conclusion, action research and a mixed-method approach are essential tools for improving teaching practices and enhancing student learning outcomes. By leveraging innovative approaches such as digital technology and blended learning, we can continue to create effective and engaging learning environments that prepare students for success in the 21st century. • Media that Engages

Social media has become an integral part of our daily lives. It provides us with a platform for communication, sharing information, building communities and conducting business. While social media has numerous benefits, it also presents challenges, especially regarding the handling of personal information. However, social networks are continuously evolving and influencing education, opinion formation, identity construction, socialization, and the economy. In her TED talk, Corazza emphasizes the importance of thinking outside the box to generate new and innovative ideas. This is precisely what the ideation phase of Design Thinking is all about - brainstorming a variety of different solutions. Corazza's ideas focus on inspiring creativity and innovation, which is why they have gained popularity. Creativity is a powerful tool that not only grabs public attention but also helps establish a stronger connection with followers, inspiring them to take action. As teachers, it's vital to infuse creativity in our work to expand our ideas and knowledge to a wider audience. By doing so, we can encourage others to engage with our teachings and broaden the reach of our message. I am interested in creating an interactive article that allows readers to interact with each other. This platform would enable us to ask and answer questions, creating a chain of knowledge that we can share with one another. I don't want this article to be just another academic assignment that will be quickly forgotten. Action research is an approach that helps teachers improve their classrooms and their professional development according to their needs. When combining traditional methods with action research, the results can be pretty cool. It helps teachers identify what's going wrong and tailor development to their individual needs so that they can achieve better student outcomes. The best thing about action research is that it's not a competition against colleagues, but a way to hold ourselves accountable and find solutions to problems. In my professional opinion, the Planning Stage is a critical and challenging phase of any project. It encompasses various steps that demand significant efforts, such as researching relevant literature and identifying the problem that needs to be solved. It can be difficult to recognize our errors during this phase, and therefore, it may require additional time and effort to analyze our work thoroughly. Developing a research plan is also a time-consuming task that requires advanced skills and expertise from the team. In essence, the Planning Stage demands utmost dedication and attention to detail to ensure the success of any project. Traditional research typically follows a specific method for finding answers, employs qualitative methods, and involves non-experimental research. It employs various design methods to enhance the research process. However, Action Research is distinct. It aligns with our reflection on teaching, merges theory with practice to enhance it, and is focused on improving the school as a whole, rather than just a single classroom. It empowers teachers to grow professionally and implement social justice advocacy, making it a powerful tool for improving education. I am absolutely determined to tackle the first stage of my work, which I know is the toughest and most time-consuming. Identifying areas of improvement can be tricky, but I am confident in my ability to recognize my own mistakes and challenges. Action Research is a powerful motivator for me, driving me to reflect on my work as an educator and make the necessary improvements to enhance my students' academic success. I am not just teaching to fill hours, but with a clear purpose and objectives in mind. I am fully aware of where I am headed and where I want to go, and I have set clear goals that will undoubtedly lead to my success. Google Sites, 2024. In his TED talk, Mitra explains that while the current education system is not broken, it is outdated. He believes that technology has made schools less necessary for learning, as we now have various tools that can help us succeed. To prove his point, Mitra conducted a fascinating experiment with low-income Indian children called the "hole in the wall". He gave them a computer and left them to discover how to use it on their own. The experiment demonstrated that technology can provide us with very positive results and help us learn. With the help of technology, we can almost do everything by ourselves. It's a surprising change that brings a new era of learning to us. I recently had the opportunity to work with second-grade students who were assigned a science project to investigate their favorite animal. The students were required to research and gather information related to their animal's eating habits, behavior, habitat, and other essential details. I provided them with access to a computer to conduct their research, and I was amazed by the quality of the projects they produced. The students learned a great deal, and their projects contained valuable information. They went into great depth with their research and exceeded expectations. I enjoy giving children the opportunity to explore the internet and find answers by themselves. I find Google and various applications that the school district uses with Classlink, like XtraMath, Prodigy, Istation, Seesaw, ABCya and Starfall, to be very helpful in aiding children to learn mathematics and reading. Children are already familiar with these tools and have established routines for their daily use. As an experienced educator, I have learned that understanding the needs, strengths, and weaknesses of our students is crucial in selecting the appropriate technological tools to enhance classroom learning. This is something I have tested over the years and found to be effective. Google sites, 2024. Related Posts Power of Growth Mindset in Learning Environments! Key Contributions and Supporting Contributions Collaborating as a team may seem simple, but it is not. Working with people who have different mindsets, preferences and opinions can be a challenge we encounter in any work environment. However, I am proud to say that my team is strong and united. Perhaps it's because we all share a Hispanic heritage, which allows us to genuinely connect with each other. We have assumed the responsibility of committing to our team, which requires a sense of duty. I could say that the level of commitment was evident in the preparation of Dr. Sue's Professional Learning program. We had three extensive meetings, each lasting more than three hours, to plan and organize training sessions and activities aimed at improving our classroom teaching skills. It was not an easy task to put aside our personal activities and dedicate so many hours to teamwork. We had all kinds of memories, where we laughed, talked about personal experiences about our work, but we also got stressed because sometimes we didn't understand how to execute our ideas. The difference in character of each member was reflected in this work, some imposing more strength than others. However, we managed to achieve our goal, which was to create a well-crafted work that can help other teachers and ourselves learn to teach. During our discussion on Dr. Kelly's Learning environments subject, team members expressed various ideas and opinions about what constitutes the best learning environment for students. Although we had different perspectives, we were able to have rich conversations and prepare our work successfully while respecting each other's opinions. We had separate meetings to review and discuss the remaining assignments of the two subjects, not everything was PL. Each task was reviewed by the entire team and we supported each other to structure them. This is my favorite part of our meetings: when we support each other to be successful and get things done on time. Fortunately, we achieved all this successfully and we are very proud of it, we also used readings and discussion videos to support us in the preparation of our work, all the videos were accurate and useful as a tool to support our work. They were like a light that guided us to find the way in which we should carry out our tasks. In terms of leadership, I actively participated in each of the meetings by sharing my ideas and opinions on both subjects, according to my usual practice, I conducted research before each meeting and shared my findings with my colleagues, I also took notes in a Google document During our PL meetings, it was a challenge to capture all the ideas shared by my colleagues at the same time, but I managed to complete my task successfully. Estefanía was a valuable resource as she researched extensively on the Internet and shared her findings with the group, she also mastered writing the PL as she had great knowledge on the topic. Adriana coordinated important meetings and dates, and her experience at PL was invaluable to the group. Vitalia took responsibility for collecting evidence such as photographs of each of the encounters. Each member of the group assumed a leadership role, contributing their personal knowledge and skills to ensure the success of our assignments. Throughout the Blackboard discussions, I actively participated by publishing on the established dates and commenting on the publications of my colleagues in the Master's program. Additionally, I published posts in my e-portfolio for each of the weekly topics covered in the two subjects. As I mentioned in previous paragraphs, the videos and readings provided were very useful to reflect on each of the publications and I made sure to use APA format in all my submissions. I am deeply grateful to my colleagues for supporting me on this adventurous journey. People come into our lives for a reason, and the purpose of our team was to achieve our goal together. As someone who is passionate about education, I strongly believe that every individual has a unique story, and the same applies to me. With the constant evolution of the education system, it has become increasingly important for teachers to be flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of students. To achieve this, my project aims to bring about a transformative change that involves providing continuous professional development opportunities for teachers. By doing so, we can create a culture of innovation and growth, which will ultimately lead to an improvement in the quality of education that we provide in the classroom. This is a critical step towards ensuring that every student has access to a stimulating and enriching learning experience that sets them up for success in the future. As a presenter of my Blended Learning project in my school community, I am highly motivated to inspire my colleagues to join me in creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment. My primary goal is to foster a sense of ownership in their own learning and empower them to take an active role in the project. I am committed to being a resource for them, providing support and guidance whenever they need it, and encouraging them to ask any questions or express any concerns they may have. While I recognize that not everyone may be enthusiastic about the project at first, I am confident that I can persuade them with the evidence of the students' progress and success thus far. I believe that incorporating technology into the learning process is more than just a trend; it is a new lifestyle that can benefit both students and teachers. By harnessing the power of technology, we can create a more personalized and engaging learning experience that fosters creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking skills. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our students and help them achieve their full potential. As educators, we have a crucial role to play in shaping the future of our students. Our primary responsibility is to serve as mentors who guide and support their academic growth by facilitating their learning process. However, our job doesn't end there. We also must act as observers, assess their progress, and provide constructive feedback that can help them improve. Obstacles, undoubtedly, are common in any profession, and teaching is no exception. However, we must perceive them as opportunities to learn and grow, both as individuals and as professionals. By doing so, we can develop a growth mindset that can help us overcome any challenges that come our way. Therefore, my call to action is to urge teachers to continue learning and professional development actively. We cannot afford to be complacent or stagnant in our careers, given the ever-evolving nature of education. In line with this, Alisson Gulamusshein, a renowned education expert, has identified five critical areas that teachers need to develop professionally. These include pedagogical knowledge, content knowledge, pedagogical content knowledge, technological knowledge, and knowledge of students' diverse needs. By focusing on these areas, we can enhance our effectiveness as teachers and improve our students' learning outcomes. 5 Tips for Educators to Plan Professional Learning Realted Posts The learner as an active part of his or her own learning.
