  • COVA+Growth of Mindset

Professional growth is not easy to develop, it has a series of processes and some of them are difficult to overcome, as a purpose in this life it has its desired goal but to reach the goal there is a long road to travel, my life changed when I started I started studying my master's degree in applied learning a few months ago, I have learned many things and of course skills that I have been applying in my work environment, and I am eager to discover the result that being able to finish this adventure will bring me. COVA has been one of the most common terms in the course of this master's degree, since it is considered a model to follow in order to achieve a safe and effective learning environment. "it's about learning" is one of the phrases that has helped me not lose focus, we can use many work tools but our goal must always be learning, that is where COVA has a very important role since personally We can have choice, ownership and our own voice to achieve that desired learning environment that we were talking about earlier. Personally, COVA has helped me a lot to grow as an educator and to help understand my students, to give them their own voice, choice and autonomy to choose certain things that are in line with their learning. My preschoolers are still small but they can and know how to choose certain things. according to your age. Of course, since COVA and growth of mindset have a lot of relevance, above all, I think that in CHOICE and VOICE the relationship is stronger because we always have a choice to be able to be successful, to be able to achieve success there are many paths and the truth is there is no right path but rather The important thing is to reach the goal, perhaps we will not master all the knowledge YET, but with effort and dedication and of course listening to our inner VOICE I can see a promising future more closely. The power of influence is truly remarkable in shaping students' lives. It's like a chain reaction where each link depends on the other. And if we want to achieve our goal, we need to work on improving each source. Let's start with age - the child I'm currently working with is in prekindergarten. While this may present some challenges, it also presents unique opportunities to explore the six sources of influence in the personal domain. By investing in their immediate surroundings, we can boost children's sense of protection and confidence, ultimately enhancing their personal skills and overall security. And the best part? This approach benefits not only the children but the entire educational community as well. During the prekindergarten phase, Young children. are beginning to comprehend the importance of social interactions and the role they play in achieving their goals. Celebrating their accomplishments with the community fosters a sense of confidence in their personal and motivational growth. Encouraging our little ones to stay motivated is crucial! This is where the structural aspect comes in, as it plays a crucial role in helping us achieve our goals and objectives. Rewarding them for their determination and hard work is an amazing way to show them that their efforts are appreciated. Remember, they're still young and learning how to navigate the world around them. With a little patience and understanding, we can help them achieve great things and watch them grow into amazing individuals! Lastly, I had to tell you about this amazing video I saw called "All Washed Up!" This is a social experiment with children that shows the importance of washing hands before meals. The way one child's actions and words inspired others was simply incredible. It just goes to show the impact we can have on others with even the smallest act. I highly recommend checking it out and taking a moment to think about how it can change our perceptions. So let's get started and make a positive impact today! • Get ready, set, go! It's time to change your behavior and make a positive impact.

To achieve the main purpose of the project, commitment is crucial. You have two options: change your attitude and work towards the objectives, or maintain a closed mentality and watch others achieve their goals and proposals while you remain stagnant. In order to achieve your goals, creating a plan of action is crucial. We implemented the six sources of influence from the book "Influencer: The New Science of Leading Change". As a leader, it is crucial to start by implementing changes within yourself before expecting them from others in the work environment. The 6 resources for influence provide guidance on how to motivate and develop skills in each area, allowing us to make real changes and ultimately reach our desired objectives. Allow me to clarify the behaviors that I wish to modify: Working with pre-kindergarten children involves many challenges in achieving our objectives. One of the biggest challenges is that the students are very young and may not fully understand that a project requires commitment to complete successfully. Unfortunately, some parents may also undervalue the importance of this stage, believing that pre-kindergarten is solely for childcare. However, commitment is crucial to success, and I am dedicated to changing the mindset and perceptions of certain members of the school community to ensure that we can achieve our goals. One of the behaviors on the road that I would like to change is the lack of autonomy, especially among pre-kindergarten students who require a lot of assistance to function. I believe in teaching them that despite their small size, they are capable of doing things on their own with the right support and confidence. Another behavior that can be improved is teamwork. While there may not be a significant issue, there are situations where teamwork could be better. This includes committing to the project and working towards the goals. In order to establish a authentic learning atmosphere, we must be willing to make certain changes, even if we are resistant to trying new things in the classroom. Creating a comfortable work environment is crucial for facilitating learning, and ensuring that children attend school with a positive attitude and without fear. This is the final behavior that I aim to modify. Though it may not be easy and there will be challenges, I am confident that with my skills and motivation, I can achieve my goals and positively impact my school community. Few years ago, I never would have imagined how much and how quickly life would change. Currently, I'm listening to a playlist of music from my past, which makes me yearn to go back. Every day, we learn new things and gain new experiences, but I can't help feeling nostalgic about my childhood when things were simpler. However, as they say, we can't turn back time. Instead, we must accept the future with hope that we're on the right path., Regardless of any challenges, it's crucial to maintain a positive mindset and look towards the future. Nowadays, electronic devices have become an essential part of our daily lives. Many of us start our day by checking our phones to stay connected with our social networks and keep up with the latest news and events. In the field of education, it's equally important to stay updated on the needs of our students as well as our own professional development as adults. In order to achieve success, technology plays a crucial role. As I pursue my master's degree completely online, I can confidently say that technology has greatly aided me in comprehending topics that I thought were beyond my understanding. Moreover, it has simplified my personal and professional life by helping me organize my tasks efficiently. I am sincerely enjoying the benefits of technology. This positive experience has instilled in me a sense of optimism towards the future, which was not the case a few months ago when I was anxious about my abilities and future prospects. However, I can now see things with more clarity, and I am in a stage of intellectual growth that makes me excited for what's to come. Of course, there are moments of doubt and fear, but I remind myself that I've come this far, and it's worth discovering what the future holds. It's important to strive for self-improvement and learning every day, with a positive attitude and a strong desire to succeed. Setting clear objectives is the key to achieving our goals. We should ask ourselves what, how, and why in order to pursue our dreams and make them a reality. These questions help us to develop an action plan, like a map that leads us to the treasure we seek. By keeping our reason, what, and how in mind, we stay focused on our blueprint and don't lose sight of our objectives. I encourage you to set your own goals, explore alternatives, and if you feel stuck, change your mindset to "I may not be able to do it yet, but I will get there." Google Picture, 2023. What is Your Why? Have you ever wondered why some people are better at making meaningful decisions than others? Well, Simon Sinek has some answers. He talks about the "Golden Circle" and how it's made up of three key parts. First, there's the WHY - basically what drives you and what you believe in. Then there's the HOW - the way you present your ideas and make them stand out. And finally, there's the WHAT - the actual actions you take to achieve your goals. I want to mention something I learned from watching a video by Kotter called "The Heart of Change." He talks about how our emotions can have a big influence on the decisions we make, sometimes even more than logic. We all know what it's like to be swayed by our feelings, right? But of course, it's not always the best way to make choices. Still, it's something to keep in mind. Also, In Kotter's video "Leading Change: Establish a Sense of Urgency," we are reminded of the significance of urgency. This involves identifying the issues we are confronting and acknowledging the need for change. As educators, we have a mission to accomplish, so it is crucial to be distinct about our purpose, WHY, and daily approach in the classroom. We must consider not only WHAT we teach but also HOW we teach it. I think Sinek and Kotter have some really awesome ideas that could help us out in all sorts of areas, even education. If we follow their advice, we can figure out what we're aiming for and map out how to get there. Quote fancy, “The heart of change is in the emotions.”, 2023. I come from a generation that was under immense pressure to excel academically. My childhood in Mexico was marked by a challenging and rigorous educational system that placed great importance on achieving perfection. My mother, teachers, and society all had high academic expectations of me, which left a lasting impact. In hindsight, I realize that this emphasis on perfection has led to certain insecurities and a belief that I am not good at many things. Carol Dweck believes that the word "YET" can inspire a growth mindset. It acknowledges that while we may not have learned something yet, we have the potential to achieve it in the future. While some people understand this concept well, others lack positivity and may not have faith in their abilities. As educators, it is important to consider what type of students we are instructing. Are they already high-achieving "A" students, or are they students who dream of a bright future and have potential for growth? In the video "The Power of Belief - Mindset and Success" by Eduardo Briceno, he highlights important concepts such as persistence, goals, faith, focusing on the process, and embracing new challenges. Briceno provides clear examples of individuals who have surpassed themselves through perseverance and faith, ultimately reaching their goals. Currently, I am a teacher for third-grade students who are feeling anxious about the increased responsibilities associated with the STAR test. My goal is to encourage and support them, instilling confidence in their abilities and emphasizing that with hard work and effort, we can achieve our goals. • My learning experience in ADL

The pace of technological growth is rapid and there's always something new to learn. Despite having completed my bachelor's degree over 10 years ago, I'm aware that a lot has changed since then. Initially, I was apprehensive due to my own fears and self-doubt, as I believed that the advances in technology had surpassed my abilities. However, I've realized that any limitations we face are only in our minds. Out of all the platforms we learned about in the course, I found WIX to be the most enjoyable. Although there are other platforms available, WIX was initially challenging for me to navigate. However, I have since learned how to use its tools to create my portfolio. I am thrilled to showcase my creativity through my e-portfolio, as it is a reflection of my personal style. I particularly enjoy experimenting with colors and fonts. Through this tool, I have gained a great deal of knowledge. However, I am making progress, and I believe that the concept of Blended Learning is what I have learned best throughout this entire course. Prior to this, I had never heard of this approach, and I was pleasantly surprised by how all its components fit together to form a learning system with many benefits for studentsI've gained a lot of valuable knowledge during my studies, including Growth of Mindset, COVA, and CSLE. Dr. Harapnuik, my teacher, has been a great inspiration to me with his vast knowledge and impressive career. The videos he's shared have been incredibly helpful in understanding how technology can enhance the learning process. Even though I had never taken an online course before, it fits perfectly with my lifestyle and learning style because it entails a lot of autonomy and freedom. • Disruptive Innovation. What kind of teacher are you?

Since human beings live in a changing and constantly developing world, we cannot refuse change since it is part of life. In the educational system, it is essential to try to be agents of change in our students, influence their lives and create an impact that generates learning for the rest of their life; I remember my first-grade teacher; her name is Lorena, she was a rigorous teacher and even my classmates, and I said that she was terrible but in the end how can I remember to a person that I have not seen for more than 20 years,? It is definitely that she was a person who had an impact on my life. Speaking of disruptive education tries to make fundamental changes in our group, changes that lead students to the actual cognitive process and generate significant learning. Blended learning and a disruptive class can combine to have a successful classroom with happy students. Take a moment to reflect on the type of teacher you are. Have you ever hesitated to do something unconventional, fearing that others may deem you crazy? Have you ever felt constrained by the expectations of others rather than pursuing your unique vision? I want you to know that you are not alone and that your desire for change is admirable. Your students will remember you as an exceptional teacher. I was hoping you could share your thoughts with me in the comments. Related posts: Hey, are you up for taking a trip back in time? You have the power; I challenge you to make a change.

I think that the mind of the human being is like a plant; it is a tiny seed that grows little by little when we take care of it and feed it correctly until it develops a beautiful bright flower full of life, that is how my form is to see the growth mindset, reap and sow in the lives of our students, let them know and we know that we can improve our learning and thinking, as teachers our job is to bring them closer to solving problems, group and individual learning, creating situations where they can have fun and learn at the same time. What a challenge. Nothing is impossible; if we love our profession, we will do it with much love and affection for our students. Let's go for those students with a YET, whose cognitive processes are on fire; we will look for talent and intelligence, as Carol Dweck said. • You have the power; I challenge you to make a change.

Words have power; I love knowing that if we change a little what we say, we could transform people's ideas; I love the video of the children trying to make smokers change their minds about smoking, the perspective in which things are seen it is impressive so sometimes because feelings interfere in how we do or say something. Ultimately, one of our jobs as educators is to transform and change minds. In one of my blogs, I mentioned that for all the good things you do, the universe returns to you multiplied because this is a clear example that we must create positive minds and influence our students positively. Have you been able to watch The Last Wagon on Netflix yet? This classic movie from the 80s portrays the inspiring story of a teacher who taught her students to love learning in a school with limited resources. Against all odds, she even taught one of her students how to read, who later became a successful teacher and inspector, despite facing economic hardships and tragedies. The movie beautifully demonstrates the power of words and actions to transform lives and inspire positive change, reminding us that our efforts can make a difference for future generations.
